How will you know that your car urgently needs service!
The regular maintenance of our car is a capital of vital importance for its reliability. What signs should you never ignore?
Many times, the engine of our car takes care of sending us various "messages" for its maintenance. We don't mean in the traditional way of indicator lights and a reminder to visit a workshop, but different indications that make it clear that it's time for service. Of course, as we always say in such cases, the maintenance should be done based on the program defined by the manufacturer or even earlier and not after a breakdown.
After all, if we wait for it to break down to visit the repair shop, in most cases other damages have been caused which often cost dearly. So what are the "messages" that we should never ignore and are clear... signs for service? Let's look at the 4 main ones:
1) Increased fuel consumption
An unmaintained engine has significantly more friction and one of the results is that its moving parts have more "difficulty" to operate. The increased load leads to more fuel consumption than usual. A visit to the garage for a good check will reset the engine and consumption will return to normal.
2) Worse performance
Following the increased consumption, if you have neglected the part of maintenance, you will also notice reduced performance. The engine will not have the same "spark" it had before and will be significantly slower in its response when you step on the gas. A few jerks and its reluctance to rev up are a few more telltale signs that you need to rush to the garage.
3) Increased noise
We all know the sound of the car we drive every day. Some problems that may occur, however, change it and make it more intense, rough and metallic. So if you notice something like this, then the best thing to do is not to use the vehicle and take it to the garage as soon as possible. You can never know what is being heard, so the engineer better take action.
4) Cuts - retouching
The engine in our car works by burning a specific air-fuel mixture. If we notice that in a certain range of revolutions, the motor hesitates to raise or makes small interruptions, we should drive calmly and take it to the workshop soon. There is probably a problem in the fuel supply circuit or currents (spark plugs - multipliers). Another possible cause could be the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
